New York, New York. So nice they named it twice. It’s the city that never sleeps – we can certainly attest to that – and if you can make it here you can make it anywhere. It’s the epicenter for finance, food, art, music and of course, fashion. So, it should have come as no surprise to us, when last month whilst visiting New York, we found ourselves in the same place at the same time as two sartorially savvy chaps; Jonathan Edwards of Milan Style and Marco Cartasegna, an Italian model and influencer. We had the pleasure to photograph both of them in the following editorial style shoots around the streets SoHo and Brooklyn’s waterfront.
Jonathan Edwards: Founder of MilanStyle.com
At 6’6, Jonathan Edwards is a Mancunian man-mountain. He’s also a journalist and founder of the world’s largest luxury shopping website, Milan Style. He’s a regular along the hallowed ‘Row’ (Savile Row), genuflects at the alter of Neopolitan tailoring and lives by the edict that life should look like a Ralph Lauren advert. It was once the case that an Englishman never gave away the name of his tailor, but fortunately, Jonathan is more than happy to credit avant-guard tailor to the stars, Edward Sexton (grey prince of wales check suit) and Edism Sartoria of Naples (navy double-breasted jacket) for the absolutely flawless looks for this shoot.
Marco Cartasegna: Model, blogger and influencer
Marco Cartasegna, for such a young gent, is a seasoned professional in the modeling game and has a Masters degree from the IE Business School in Madrid to boot. Having worked with some of the top Italian and international brands such as Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Puma and G-star, to name a few, Marco has well and truly perfected his ‘blue-steel.’ He’s a long way from Milan now, currently residing between New York and LA to pursue his love of fashion and he also recently started his own blog, Your Gentleman. Marco is a true gentlemen of the industry; professional and enthusiastic to a tee. He certainly brought a lot of energy to this shoot despite battling jet-lag. What we particularly admire about Marco, is his commitment to individuality and fearless approach when it comes to fashion. This is one gent who definitely got game.
