Philippe Perzi Vienna likes to name all our men’s shirts and one of our favourites and most popular designs is ‘Innere Stadt of Mind.’ Innere Stadt is the name given to Vienna’s city centre district, and also home to Philippe Perzi Vienna’s flagship store.
What can we say, whilst creating this collection of men’s shirts, we couldn’t help but be inspired by Vienna’s grand marble-lined streets, concert halls, palaces, coffee houses and horse-drawn carriages and we thought Innere Stadt of Mind was a fitting name for two of our men’s shirts; one with a Purple dress stripe (as worn by Philippe in the photos) and another with a blue dress stripe (Innere Stadt of Mind Blue).
This men’s shirt will make you feel brand new
This men’s shirt is made from Royal Twill fabric, which is easily recognisable for the tight diagonal weave. At Philippe Perzi Vienna, we love using Royal Twill for our men’s shirts, because the ribbed effect gives our shirts an interesting accent and subtle luminosity.
Generally, the fabric has a slight sheen and the diagonal weave helps the shirt drape beautifully, which makes it the perfect dress shirt for formal or professional settings and will definitely set you apart from the rest.
Royal Twill is softer to the touch than poplin and yet, just as strong. The fabric’s high thread count creates a silky feel and a luxurious look, whilst the 2-ply allows for a strong and durable fabric, important qualities in any luxury men’s shirt.
If you are a man who is a fervent wearer of blues and whites, why not adopt a slightly different tone by wearing a dark purple stripe. The dress stripes are thin enough to be considered acceptable wearing for professional settings, whilst enabling you to pair the shirt with bolder and brighter pieces, such as electric blues, greens, pinks and even yellows when you want to go for a smart casual look with an edge.
A tip to help you stay sartorially on the straight and narrow; if you’re pairing your striped shirt with a striped tie or a pinstripe suit, make sure the stripes are larger spaced than those on the shirt. For more information on matching patterns, check out our blog.
